This measure makes permanent Alameda's existing 2.5% transfer tax on real property sales of $1.6 million or higher, increases the rate to 3% for properties valued at $1.9 million or higher and 3.5% for properties valued at $3.0 million or higher, and removes the January 1, 2029 expiration date. The measure is estimated to generate an additional $2-4 million annually for the city.
