This measure would have authorized the Saugus Union School District to issue $187 million in bonds to retrofit classrooms for earthquake and wildfire preparedness, upgrade safety systems, expand early childhood education facilities, and construct or repair school sites. The bonds would have been repaid through a property tax of $30 per $100,000 of assessed valuation, generating approximately $13 million annually while the bonds remain outstanding.
